Abu Dhabi has unveiled a major housing support package worth AED1.54 billion ($419 million), reaffirming the emirate’s commitment to improving the quality of life for Emirati citizens and strengthening social stability.
The package was approved by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Announced ahead of Eid Al Adha 2026, the initiative aims to help Emirati families secure suitable housing while easing financial burdens and promoting long-term wellbeing.
AED1.41 Billion in Housing Loans Approved
The largest portion of the package consists of housing loans totaling AED1.41 billion, which will benefit 929 Emirati citizens across Abu Dhabi.
The loans are designed to help citizens build, purchase, or improve homes, giving more families access to sustainable housing solutions tailored to their needs.
In addition, the government approved exemptions from housing loan repayments worth AED123 million for 145 beneficiaries. The exemptions cover senior citizens, low-income retirees, and families of deceased citizens, providing much-needed financial relief to vulnerable groups within the community.
Officials said the latest initiative reflects Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to ensure citizens have access to safe and comfortable housing while maintaining financial stability.
